International Minister Hakan Fidan Monday took half in a regional cooperation platform in Iran for the institution of everlasting peace and stability within the South Caucasus, diplomatic sources mentioned Monday.
The assembly, organized on the degree of international ministers in Tehran, was attended by Türkiye, the host nation of Iran, and Azerbaijan, Armenia and Russia.
The primary assembly of the regional cooperation platform proposed by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev passed off in Moscow in December 2021 on the degree of deputy international ministers.
The assembly in Iran comes within the wake of dramatic developments within the South Caucasus’ Karabakh area final month.
After practically 30 years of Armenian occupation, most of Karabakh was liberated by Azerbaijan throughout a battle within the fall of 2020, which ended with a Russian-brokered peace settlement.
This September, the Azerbaijani military initiated an anti-terrorism operation in Karabakh to determine constitutional order within the area, after which unlawful separatist forces within the area surrendered.
Azerbaijan, having now established full sovereignty within the area, has reiterated its name on the ethnic Armenian inhabitants in Karabakh to develop into a part of Azerbaijani society.
Azerbaijan and Armenia are each former Soviet republics, and Iran carefully borders the area, together with the world of a projected hall to attach Azerbaijan to its exclave of Nakhchivan, and from there present entry to Türkiye.
